Polish multi-asset brokerage XTB announced a partnership with a sporting legend as it welcomed Zlatan Ibrahimović onto its team.
Zlatan, as he is known, is a former professional footballer from Sweden who has played at the highest levels of the game. Scoring more than 570 goals and winning 34 trophies during his career.
Zlatan played for some of Europe’s biggest clubs including AC Milan, PSG, Manchester United Inter Milan, Ajax and Barcelona and he won 122 caps for Sweden, scoring 62 goals for the national team. He has been acclaimed as one of the top strikers of his generation. He retired aged 41 in 2023 having helped AC Milan win the Serie A title.
XTB will use Zlatan to promote the brand across Europe, he is well known to the broker’s target demographic groups and generally highly regarded too.
XTB said in the announcement about Zlatan’s appointment as an ambassador;:

Charismatic and instantly recognisable Zlatan is heading a marketing campaign that emphasises the range of trading and investment products offered at XTB.
The broker has crafted a video featuring three different Zlatans, in a lift to get, the message across to prospective clients.
Which other margin trading firms have partnered with football players and clubs?
Margin trading firms have often sponsored sports teams and individuals, however Football has received the most sponsorship.
For example, AXI UK is the online trading partner of Manchester City this season, with the broker renewing an existing deal.

eToro has historically partnered with several UK Premier League clubs, and in 2023 it partnered with Women’s football teams in the UK, including Arsenal, West Ham and Crystal Palace.
For the 2024/25 season, eToro is sponsoring the Arsenal men’s and women’s teams, Everton FC’s male and female teams, and teams of both genders at West Ham and Crystal Palace.
