Our verdict

The exchange rate between the US dollar and the Euro is EURUSD. The Euro was created on December 31 1998, when thirteen countries decided to scrap their currencies and move into one currency.

Why buy USD over HKD:

The HK economy thrives on strong global growth and a vibrant Chinese economy. Unfortunately, neither is doing well in 2023. This exerts some pressure on the HKD-USD peg, currently at 7.8. Under the Link Exchange Rate System (LERS), the HKMA will defend the peg should market forces create one-sided pressure on it. For now, this peg is holding firm. 24/11/23
