At last we do not have to rely on paltry interest on savings for income. It is also liberating that we can invest in corporate bonds for income without having to commit a significant amount of money.

Platform is easy to use and I have already been recommending friends and family onto the platform.

Business model wise I consider it to be very good. It allows to have access to corporate bonds that would not be possible for the typical investor. The possibility to automatically diversify is also very welcoming.

I would like to see a new mobile app in the future.

WiseAlpha allows small retail investors to easily invest in quality corporate bonds, which I believe offers better rates and relative credit risk than other debt investment platforms (e.g. P2P lending). Customer service has been great when I’ve spoken to them, it’s ISA-ready, and user experience is very good. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend, a simplistic and user-friendly platform which has allowed me to grow my investment portfolio. Everything is clearly outlined and it is reassuring to know support is at the end of the phone, without the ridiculous wait-times that other, lesser customer focused companies seem to put their clients through!

The platform has allowed me to build a diverse portfolio of corporate bonds, without having to opt for the low return, high fee unit trusts available in the market. Easy to use website and quick and helpful responses on the occasions I have had questions about the product.

WiseAlpha Alternatives

For those looking to invest in corporate bonds, there are a number of alternatives to WiseAlpha.

One alternative is the London Stock Exchange’s Order Book for Retail Bonds (ORB). This is a platform for investing in UK fixed income securities. More than 60 gilts and over 100 corporate bonds (tradable in denominations of £1,000 or similar) are available for trading on the electronic order book.

Another alternative is Hargreaves Lansdown. It currently offers access to several hundred corporate bonds issued by companies such as HSBC Holdings, Marks & Spencer Group, and National Grid. Many are only available over the phone, however. Saxo Markets is another broker that offers exposure to bonds. It currently offers access to more than 5,000 government and corporate bonds in Europe, US, Asia, Middle East and Latin America digitally.
