The firm offers Spread Betting and Margin Trading through a unified platform that, in this instance, is aimed at tax-conscious retail customers in the UK. In this review we will give our expert rating on Capital.com’s financial spread betting account.
Capital.com Spread Betting Expert Rating: Updated 30/07/2026
Account: Capital.com Financial Spread Betting
Description: Capital.com scores well in our review of its Spread Betting services, and we would be surprised if it doesn’t gain market share. Capital.com probably isn't the first name that you think of when it comes to Spread Betting, and that’s because the firm's principal focus has been on Margin Trading, which has an international appeal rather than just a UK niche.

Is Capital.com good for Spread Betting?
Yes, we rate Capital.com as a very good spread betting broker. The expertise and technology that Capital.com has built up, as it has grown its trading business, have been applied to the Spread Betting offering;
Indeed, the two account types share a web-based platform, which feels high-end, is intuitive to use, and provided free of charge.
A wide range of markets is available, covering energies, metals, indices, bonds, interest rates, commodities and FX. It’s easy to navigate around the platform, which is clearly labelled and driven by menus and icons.
If you are looking for inspiration, then the discovery icon is for you. Click it, and you are taken to a page that shows the most traded instruments across asset classes, leading risers and fallers, alongside news and analysis.
Pricing: Spreads are tight, and prices are competitive, particularly in hours, though Capital.com makes no secret that these are dynamic and can change to reflect underlying market conditions.
Market Access: There are more than 5000 instruments available to spread bettors.
Platform & Apps: The trading platform is a pleasure to use; it’s highly responsive and well laid out with broad market coverage. Order entry is intuitive with limit, stop loss and take profit functions at hand. Charting is excellent, and those familiar with Trading View iconography will feel at home. There is a seamless transition between views and functions, making it among the best I have tested.
Research and Analysis: You get headline news from sources such as Reuters on the platform, though not all headlines come with an article attached. Sentiment and the “most popular” indicators are always useful. The website has a dedicated area for news and analysis, with long-form articles, third-party price targets and technical analysis.
Customer Service: My experience with Capital.com’s customer service was excellent. I opted for the WhatsApp live chat facility, asking some quite technical questions, all of which were answered promptly, often with a link to supplementary information on the topic.
Pros
- A high-end, intuitive dealing platform packed with charts and market info.
- A wide range of asset classes and markets to bet on.
- Trade sizes from 1p per point margin requirements are prominently displayed before trade entry, allowing you to size your bets appropriately.
Cons
- Not easy to tell the difference between the Spread Betting and CFD trading platforms at a glance, which could confuse users. A banner or label at the top of the screen would be helpful.
- There is currently no demo account for the spread betting platform, though you can familiarise yourself with its operation using an unfunded live account.
