Our verdict
Capital.com provides access to major global equity indices, with spot and CFD futures markets together with extended trading hours on selected instruments, alongside analysis and risk-management tools.
Capital.com is better known as a multi-asset CFD platform rather than a specialist index broker. However, index trading is one of the areas where its broad market coverage and clean interface work particularly well.

Is Capital.com good for Index Trading in the UK?
Capital.com's index offering covers more than 35 global index CFDs, including the US 500, US Tech 100, Wall Street 30, Germany 40, Japan 225, Hong Kong 50, UK 100 and US Russell 2000.
Index futures are also available, giving traders another way to express a view on where index prices will be down the track, rather than the current spot market.
The platform is designed to help traders move from market and price discovery to trade execution, without the need to switch between multiple tools. It includes market data, analysis, data on your portfolio performance, adjustable trade sizing, limits, and both stop-loss and take-profit orders.
However, stop-loss orders are not guaranteed unless you trade with a guaranteed-stop, which incurs an additional charge (a percentage of the opening value of the trade) in the DAX or Germany 40, which is 0.02% of the consideration, or notional value.
The contract specifications, including funding rates and spreads, are displayed on the Capital.com website and can be found via the indices page.
Pricing: The platform promotes transparent spreads and shows the cost structure before a position is opened. It's always worth checking the live spreads and overnight financing costs if you're trading inter-day, and any applicable guaranteed-stop fee if you use one, as CFD costs can vary with market conditions and the instrument traded, but as we've noted, Capital.com makes that information easy to find.
Market Access: Coverage is excellent. Capital.com advertises 35+ global index CFDs, with both spot and futures markets and exposure that spans the US, Europe and Asia. This should be plenty for most traders' needs, and as we know, the bulk of index trading is concentrated in a select group of major indices.
Platform & Apps: The indices interface is clean and practical, putting prices, daily moves and charts in one view. The wider platform also supports TradingView integration, mobile and desktop access, and risk controls that make position management relatively intuitive.
Research and Analysis: Market data and analysis tools are built into the account. The charting package is excellent, and there are plenty of thought-provoking long-form articles about the markets to be found on the firm's website.
Customer Service: My experience with customer support was very good. An AI assistant tries to answer your questions, but if it can't tell you what you need to know, then it puts you in touch with a human operator who should be able to. I initially accessed support through a web chat, but was quickly offered the option to create a persistent chat in WhatsApp, on which I spend much of my time.
