Too class podcast from an all-round expert
Highly recommended daily podcast. Paul’s knowledge of small and mid caps is fantastic and second to none. Delivered in an informative and fun and engaging way.
Great knowledge of small caps
Paulβs new venture a great source of research for small caps. Good to have regular podcasts for easy listening. Keep up the great work Paul.
Top class!
Leading UK commentator on small-cap stocks, renowned for his numerical expertise and engaging, humorous delivery. I’ve become a far better investor through reading and listening to Paul’s analysis!
First class investment entertainment
Paul Scott is an excellent observer of UK investment life and provides an entertaining soundtrack to the sometimes dry world of stocks hence his huge private investor following. Paul offers insights and rapier like commentary across primarily small and mid caps with a notable lack of ego and stock promotion which is a pretty rare combination. I’ve been reading / listening to Paul for longer than I care to remember and I’ve always valued his ideas and his sense of humour. Highly recommend.
Great Quality Analysis
Really good insights, digestible even to me as a relative newbie (having found Paul through his free podcasts) – I particulalrly like the pointing out of particular aspects of a company we might want to look at deeper before taking any decisions – pensions deficit here, management remuneration v shareholder payout ratio there. The contribution of the subscriber chat to the overall value should also not be underestimated – what a fantastic community. Great work Paul, I’m glad to be on board.
Fantastic insights without the ramping!
Paul’s breakdown of the latest small cap news is an invaluable resource for all investors, particularly those with time pressures. Despite being a full time investor myself, I find Paul’s insight an invaluable resource that challenge my personal conclusions and fill in gaps I may have overlooked. For those with full time jobs or less time to input into personal research, Paul’s overviews would probably be nothing short of priceless. The colour coding system helps quickly filter companies, directing your effort towards those more likely to be worth the effort and raising caution for those more likely to crash and burn. Many other sites/commentators shamefully ramp their own holdings or do commissioned write ups on companies they know to be sub-standard investments. To his credit, I’ve found Paul to be about as objective as they come. Definitely worth the subscription price.
very good with the numbers!
Paul comes up with some brilliant ideas to follow up on. He’s also very analytical and thorough with the numbers, something I can’t do! So I’m grateful that I can follow him and he does that side of the analysis for me. Oh, and not to forget, the humour with which he does it! The odd burp, hic up or fart, not to mention trying to camouflage opening a tin of beer whilst recording the latest ‘top quality’ Podcast, just goes to show he’s human and very funny with it!
On a serious note, I don’t know anyone who works harder at what he does and cares so much about getting it right.
Paul, don’t ever change!
Graham Wells.
Small cap investors’ guide and friend
Paul’s coverage of the UK small and mid cap markets is second to none. Smart, fair and properly independent. Helps you avoid traps and find ideas worth following up. And does it all with humanity and a sense of humour. Highly recommend.
Honest, quality analysis.
Been following his content for several years and would be lost without it.
Informative daily guide
Informative daily guide, as always.
A superb reviewer of U.K. small & mid-cap quoted companies
I have been following Paul for over 10 years. He is my first port of call on his chosen field of U.K. shares, mostly small and mid caps. He is open, honest and dispassionate in giving his views, he admits to being fallible, and is very human. He is always interesting and good fun to listen to. He has improved my investing track record.
Best UK small and mid caps commentator
Paul Scott is simply the best small and mid caps commentator in the UK. The daily Small Cap Value Report on Substack is by far the best place to find unbiased and detailed comments on UK small and mid cap shares. Paul’s analysis is great and he has a gift to flag potential disasters just by checking the RNS comments or when the numbers aren’t looking good on the balance sheet. I hope Paul’s new venture becomes a profitable growth story π
Brilliant summary of UK small caps
Paul Scottβs daily coverage of company news and macro overview is second to none and delivered in a clear, informative and often light hearted way.
Totally recommended

Simply he’s the best
I’ve been following Paul for years. He’s one of the best stock analyst. Not saying that because he mentioned me in one of his podcastsπ but he certainly deserves it. He’s insight and enthusiasm for stocks are unparalleled. You will definitely enjoy his podcasts and reading his analysis. Thanks Paul for all your hard work.
Superb analysis with a human touch
By far the best commentator on small/ mid cap businesses I have come across.
More than happy to subscribe to his new venture on substack
Expert analysis, in easy to understand prose, with a common sense approach and an easy going, humorous, straight talking style.
Doesnt fall into the trap of coming across as all-knowing and infallible ( unlike many in his profession)
Very good and informative
I have been following Paul for about a year now and I am very impressed with the content of his podcasts, vey honest and a top bloke, thank you Paul, you have saved me a small fortune over the last year.
Combines deep insight with entertaining delivery
I followed Paul on Stockopedia and now Substack. Always generates good stock ideas to allow further research. Required listening.
Top Class Commentator on Small Caps and More
I have read Paul’s writings on the Stockopedia website for a few years now. Great at flagging up ideas for investors to follow up with our own further research. Enjoyable style and some rapid digging on company news. A valuable addition to the Goodmoneyguide connections.
strong commentator specialist in small caps
strong on companies’ financials which helps those without any accountancy background avoid disasters though an occasional good opportunity is missed out
