First Class Commentary
The small cap reviews deliver just the right amount of information required to give you a great insight on a company. Paul’s expert analysis on the figures really helps me save time on my research. Written format and a podcast to boot, this has to be a must for any private investor, I wouldn’t be surprised if the professionals take in a look as well.
Great analysis and very entertaining
Paul is a very successful investor and combines an accountant’s view of the financials with an ability to see the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats of a company. Quite often he can see things that others would miss, he can have a unique, almost idiosyncratic, view on things. You may not agree on everything but you will learn a lot and he shares his expertise generously. Importantly the podcast is informed, hugely entertaining with a very personal approach, very humorous and easy to listen to.

Excellent podcast for UK small cap investors
I have been listening to Paul’s Small Cap investor podcast since he started it as a weekly whilst working with Stockopedia and have continued to listen since he switched to a daily independent podcast. It is an essential part of my investing routine and is always the first podcast I play whilst out on my dog walk, since it is always very useful and entertaining. Paul brings his experience, skill, passion, candidness and humour to each episode and it is well worth a listen.
Excellent knowledge and interesting
Paul has an interesting and engaging voice and sounds really down to earth. This is essential for engagement – it really is. And then his research and seemingly balanced approach brings me nuggets of information that help me with making my own financial decisions. What is also excellent, is how his consideration of ethics shine through and I appreciate his transparency and logic. Thank you Paul – you have really helped a novice in this world of money!

Very informative, simplifies and cuts out the PR nonsense from PLCβs RNS. Great help to private investors

Paul has become an essential walking partner. Great personality and analysis.
Fantastic
Paul Scott is a great analyst to listen to. Paul provides a non nonsense approach to small cap shares and isn’t afraid to speak his mind. You can always tell that Paul puts in a lot of effort in his analysis and he produces great podcast content. I highly recommend joining Paul’s Substack to keep up to date with his analysis.
Fantastic Knowledge
Paul has a fantastic knowledge with superb analysis of small and some mid-caps. I believe he provides great insights and gives his honest opinion. I really enjoy listening to his podcasts and company interviews.
Cheery, insightful and engaging
Iβve been following Paul for several years and always enjoy his commentary and approach to stock picking and broader investment decisions
Paul Scotts unvarnished views on UK small cap companies poorly served by the financial sector
Paul’s experience as auditor, director, CFO and Investor allows him a different view and insight into the UK’s small cap companies – which are currently extremely badly covered by the financial press, brokers and analysts. And much of the coverage that does exist is paid for by the companies or from ‘house’ brokers. You are more likely to get an unvarnished opinion of company business model, balance sheet and management performance than from many highly paid industry sources!
5 Star analysis on small caps. βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ
Brilliant analysis on small and micro cap companies as well as the odd few mid caps. Great phorensic level analysis on the numbers! Good insight into the company leaders and great podcasts the twin Pauls!

Excellent
I have read Paulβs Small Cap Companies report and listened to regular podcasts since first becoming a Stockopedia subscriber around 5 years ago. I really enjoy his analysis and hope to maintain this post his setting up his own substack offering
Informative and Entertaining
Paul is a huge font of knowledge and tells it straight as he sees it. I particularly like his even handed approach and his honesty about where he has personally gone wrong, as well as his successes. My investment performance would definately be worse without his daily reports on UK small caps. Well worth subscribing to his substack page, and listening to his daily podcast.
Best daily small cap commentary!
I listen to the podcast daily. Very informative, easy to understand commentary in a short, friendly format. Thanks very much Paul, from this newbie investor.
