The charting enhancements allow users to add multiple assets to the same chart, as well as compare multiple symbols on a single chart, to analyse relative performance, correlation and trend patterns.

Other graphical additions are volume candles, which visualise price movements, customizable date ranges and a slew of new price and correlation indicators.

New Charting Enhancements:

  • Symbol Comparison: Compare multiple symbols on a single chart and add multiple assets to the same chart to analyze relative performance, correlation and trend patterns.
  • Volume Candles: Visualize market activity that reflects price movements relative to traded volume to provide a clearer view of where the most significant trading activity takes place.
  • Customizable Date Range: Choose a specific date or go to a custom date range.
  • Hot News: View the latest news stories relevant to a specific symbol.
  • Indicators: Pivot Point Standard, Volume Profile Fixed Range, 52 Week High/Low, Accelerator Oscillator, Correlation Coefficient, True Strength Index and more.

Interactive Brokers EVP of marketing and product development Steve Sanders said: β€œResponding to client feedback, we built IBKR Desktop from the ground up to leverage our proven technology and support an expanding suite of services.Β

β€œThe result is a sophisticated yet intuitive trading platform for traders of all levels.”

Interactive Brokers Desktop currently offers access to stocks, options, futures, currencies, bonds, and funds on more than 150 markets globally.

The updates to the platform come after IBKR introduced artificial intelligence (AI)-generated news summaries for users earlier this month,

The new feature, which comes at no extra cost, provides quicker summaries of news articles to investors.

It is available to eligible clients of the Interactive Brokers affiliates in Canada, the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and Japan.

The firm’s billionaire founder and chairman, Thomas Peterffy, previously emphasised the importance of both competitive pricing and a strong product-line up for the company in an interview with the Good Money Guide.

Our review of the platform finds it overall to be β€œunmatched in terms of market access, account types and execution options for retail traders”.
