Lightyear has been voted Best Investing App 2026 at the Good Money Guide Investing Awards, following an overwhelming wave of positive customer votes praising its simplicity, transparency and low fees.
The Good Money Guide Awards are decided through a combination of verified customer votes and expert analysis. Providers cannot simply apply and win, they must demonstrate consistently high service standards, competitive pricing, strong product features and genuine customer satisfaction. Votes are independently collected and reviewed, with strict controls in place to prevent manipulation or inauthentic submissions.
In Lightyear’s case, the feedback was emphatic.
Across hundreds of submissions, one word appeared again and again: “Simple.”
Customers described the platform as “intuitive,” “transparent,” “modern,” “user-friendly,” and even “lightyears ahead.” Many praised the clean UI and logical layout, saying the app makes investing feel accessible rather than intimidating. One voter said Lightyear “turns a complicated field into an easy playground,” while another highlighted that it “doesn’t overwhelm, it just works.”
Low and transparent pricing was another recurring theme. Investors repeatedly referenced Lightyear’s competitive FX rate (from 0.35%), commission-free ETF investing, and clear fee structure with no hidden costs. Several users also praised the ability to hold multiple currencies in one account and earn interest on uninvested cash.
International investors particularly valued Lightyear’s local tax integrations, including features such as TBSZ accounts in Hungary and country-specific reporting support. Others highlighted the AI-powered insights, fast onboarding, responsive human customer support and regular product improvements based on feedback.
One customer summed it up best:
“Transparent pricing, modern design, incredibly intuitive app and the best customer support. Recommend to all my friends.”
In a crowded neobroker market, Lightyear stood out in 2026 for doing the basics exceptionally well, making investing affordable, understandable and efficient for everyday investors across Europe.
Wander Rutgers, UK CEO of Lightyear, said:
Really delighted. I think it’s great to hear from customers that they like us. I think it’s great to get rewards, particularly those that are really informed by what customers are telling us or sharing about us. And of course, it’s very good to get feedback constructively and not constructively, but getting a reward is a wonderful recognition. Also, we realised that the product is not done. Our customers are telling us every day what they love about it, but also what can be improved. And we’re working very hard.
