The sponsorship from Partners Wealth Management will safeguard the future of the Horsley & Send Cricket Club which had been facing closure after the disruption of the pandemic.
If you’re part of a local cricket club with a need for funding it really helps if one of your members happens to head up a successful business. Fortunately, for the good people at Horsley & Send Cricket Club in Surrey that’s exactly what they had in the form of James Roberts, managing partner at Partners Wealth Management.
The wealth manager has now agreed to provide sponsorship injecting new life into a vibrant community club which had been fearful for its future. Like many sports club the pandemic was tough. Horsley & Send had found themselves in a dire position of needing to raise more than £26,000 to cover a summer without games.

Roberts with his company Partners Wealth Management, came to the rescue.
“I was so inspired by the ‘front foot’ actions of the Club and the response of members to the appeal that I knew Partners Wealth Management should get involved. As firm we are contributing financially but I also hope we will see a number of our firm play for the Club and indeed use the facilities to expand the fixtures we have,” says Roberts. “I feel that as we come out of lockdown all businesses need to look at what they can do to support their communities. I felt I could not sit idly by and watch a community facility that draws over 300 boys, girls and adult players fold.”
Under the terms of the deal, PWM’s own team will play their matches at the ground and they will also be offering members a rebate on their services.
The firm also plans to expand their financial education days designed to give 18 to 22 year olds much needed personal financial knowledge which the current education system sadly does not provide.
“For the lasty few years my sons, my daughter and I have enjoyed playing cricket at Horsley & Send,” added Roberts. “Therefore, I’m delighted to my firm Partners Wealth Management have agreed to sponsor and partner with the club going forward.”
