Interactive Brokers UK has reported record financial results for its UK business, with profits more than doubling in 2025 as trading activity and client numbers surged.
According to audited financial statements filed by Interactive Brokers UK Limited on Companies House, the broker increased carried client accounts by 35% to 86,798 in 2025, up from 64,146 the previous year.
Turnover, primarily driven by commission income, rose 28% to £46.2 million from £36 million in 2024, reflecting higher client trading volumes across the platform.
The online trading platform’s profitability accelerated sharply during the year. Profit before tax climbed to £34 million, compared with £13.6 million in 2024, while profit after tax increased 147% to £26 million from £10.5 million.
Finance income also increased to £147.6 million, up from £131.9 million, while finance costs totalled £103.6 million. The company’s capital base expanded significantly to £286.7 million from £221 million a year earlier.
The results come during a milestone year for the UK arm of the business, which marked its 25th anniversary in 2025.
Chief Executive of Interactive Brokers UK, Gerry Perez, said the performance demonstrated the resilience of its “risk-conservative, technology-driven and low-cost” business model, as well as the advantages of being part of the wider Interactive Brokers Group.
He also highlighted that it has now delivered more than 20 consecutive years of positive earnings in the UK, achieved through organic growth rather than acquisitions. That consistency stands out in a highly competitive UK brokerage market, where many firms have struggled to maintain profitability over the same period.
Saying that the figures were not simply evidence of profitability, but a sign that experienced and informed investors continue to favour its low-cost execution model and broad market access.
