CFD broker Plus500 has enabled Google Pay on its platform, making it simpler for users to undertake transactions.

The update allows Plus500 clients to deposit or withdraw funds to the broker without having to use their card details. The option is now available from the app’s deposit screen.

“Leave complexity behind and step into simplicity! Google Pay is now available, making your transactions with us easier than ever!,” the firm stated in an email to clients.

The CFD-focused trading platform’s adoption of Google Pay comes as it has emphasised making inroads in the US market.

Even as Plus500 adds Google Pay for UK clients, the service was, however, discontinued in the US by internet giant Alphabet in June 2024 in favour of Google Wallet, which provides much of the same functionality.

In its interim results in August, Plus500 said it had “enhanced its operations in the strategically important and highly attractive US futures market and its US businesses continued to excel”.

The “Plus500 Futures” proprietary futures trading platform in the US late last year. Alongside its interim results in August the firm stated it “continued to gain excellent traction with customers” in the first half of the year.

One point of attraction for US customers is that the new platform offers a deposit bonus of up to $200. There is also a demo account option for new users.

Also in its interim results, Plus500 also announced it expects its full-year performance to be “ahead of current market expectations”.

The London-listed firm reported first-half net profit of $148.8 million, a moderate rise from $146.5 million in the same period of 2023.

For UK customers, the Good Money Guide in August found Plus500 to be “a good online trading platform for traders who do not want to do anything more complicated than buy and sell CFDs2

“The broker does provide sentiment indicators and is quite transparent with costs and fees,” the review noted.

Founded in 2008, Plus500 has more than 26 million customers today.
