Stockbroker Interactive Brokers has launched an upgraded IBKR Desktop platform, with instant one-click order placement and a host of user-focused improvements aimed at active traders seeking speed, intelligence, and simplicity in a single trading interface.
The enhanced platform combines advanced functionality with a clean, modern design that lets investors trade across more than 160 global markets — spanning stocks, options, futures, forex, bonds, and funds, all from one unified system.
Faster Execution
Among the key new features is “QuickTrade”, a configurable one-click tool allowing orders to be transmitted instantly, a highly requested upgrade from Interactive Brokers’ most active clients. Traders can also now close specific tax lots to manage gains or losses more efficiently, view their portfolio P&L in a single chosen currency, and use both keyboard and mouse shortcuts for faster execution.
AI Analysis
Another notable addition is Ask IBKR, an AI-powered assistant that delivers real-time insights into a user’s portfolio and performance through natural language queries, reflecting the broker’s increasing integration of AI across its ecosystem.
“IBKR Desktop is designed to be the primary platform for self-directed traders and investors,” said Milan Galik, CEO of Interactive Brokers. “With each update, we add the features our clients value most. Version 1.2 introduces user-friendly functionality that makes it easier than ever to discover, analyze, trade, and manage portfolios.”
IBKR Desktop sits alongside the firm’s suite of platforms — including IBKR Mobile, Client Portal, and the professional-grade Trader Workstation — all sharing the same infrastructure for seamless trading across devices.
The new version reinforces Interactive Brokers’ position as a leading global multi-asset broker known for low costs, fast execution, and sophisticated trading tools.
