Degiro is a fraud. They started cleaning up their database from "passive" customers by demanding all sorts of private documents that go far beyond the usual financial audit and giving the deadlines that are very tight. Even for customers who used their platform for 5 years, while they made a lot of money on all the fees.
Furthermore when asked to transfer my portfolio to another broker account, since their demands were simply ridiculous, they asked for several hundreds of Euros for that service. And even then, they didn't transfer it. Instead the liquidated all my positions even though some the positions were negative and I explicitly warned them to avoid this from happening.
This can happen to you as well at any moment.
They also have one of the worst customer service I ever experienced and the worst data privacy standards. I am not even sure they are within the legal boundaries.
I will start a lawsuit against them as well as write complaint to all European financial regulators.
I had some difficulty opening an account because of poor communication from degiro customer service but since then it's been plain sailing. Lowest fees in the business and very user friendly platform. Wish I'd found it sooner
Awful customer service - not fit for purpose on the two occasions I have needed to contact them. In twenty years of investing they are comfortably the worst I have had to deal with, low fees or not.
After FOUR MONTH’s miserable tracing between DEGIRO and the bank, DEGIRO finally admitted that one of my missing payment was sent to the old account of them. I was never informed that the DEGIRO account was changed. On the THIRD phone call today with the customer support, I was told if I’m “lucky” I may get my payment back. It has the most ridiculous customer support I’ve ever experienced in any financial services company. If anything goes wrong you’ll never get your money back even after going through the terrible poor customer support through numerous phone calls (They never reply customer support&complaints emails).
