One of the leading Trading apps, and would-be Fintech, Capital.com is continuing to recruit and is taking on some well-known names in the industry, to bolster its team, as it does so.

Kyp Zoumidou joins Capital.com from IG as UK Managing director

The latest executive to join the group is Kypros Zoumidou, a twenty-year financial services veteran. Who, for the last decade and more, served as the international commercial director for industry leader, IG Group, as well as a board member for three of its subsidiary businesses.

During his time at IG Group, Mr Zoumidou helped the company to establish its Middle Eastern business, prior to which he had been head of compliance in the UK for online broker E*TRADE.

Speaking about the new appointment, Jonathan Squires, Capital.com’s Group CEO said that:

“Kypros will be instrumental to Capital.com’s ambitions in the UK,”

he added that:

“As Capital.com diversifies into direct stock investments in the UK, we will be looking to attract different client segments to reflect our wider product range. We are delighted to have Kypros lead our efforts to grow and expand in this important market.”

Joe Rundle moves from Markets.com to Capital.com

Kypros Zoumidou will be joining another veteran of the margin trading scene, in the shape of Joe Rundle, who until recently was CEO of Markets.com but who has joined Capital.com as its Chief of Staff.

Though it’s thought that Mr Rundle will be based in the company’s Cyprus office, rather than London, from where he will focus on breaking into the US markets.

Something that rivals Plus500, eToro and IG Group have all done in the past 18 months, as retail trading stateside exploded into life.

During his time at ETX Capital Mr Rundle helped to establish the firm as a multi-asset broker.

Speaking about his new role at Capital.com Mr Rundle said that:

“I have been closely following Capital.com’s development and growth since the company was founded,” and that “This new role combines so many things that I’m passionate about – particularly people, innovation, growth-driven strategy and the financial markets.”
