CMC Intelligence Launches To Help With AI Portfolio Analysis

CMC Intelligence

CMC Invest Australia has launched a new artificial intelligence feature called “CMC Intelligence”, designed to help retail investors better understand what is driving markets, portfolio performance and individual asset prices.

The new tool, announced by Ryan O’Doherty, Head of Product at CMC Invest APAC, is integrated directly into the CMC Invest platform and provides AI-generated summaries across shares, ETFs and cryptocurrencies. The feature is available on both desktop and mobile versions of the platform.

According to CMC Invest, CMC Intelligence has been developed in partnership with Telescope AI, a specialist financial AI platform. The system combines market data, company announcements, regulatory filings and news sources to generate concise explanations of market activity and portfolio performance.

The launch comes as brokers and investment platforms in Australia are increasingly embracing AI to help investors process growing volumes of market information. Rather than searching through multiple news sources, company announcements and market reports, investors can access a single summary highlighting key developments and potential market drivers.

CMC Intelligence includes two core features: AI Stock Summaries and AI Portfolio Summaries. Stock Summaries provide investors with an overview of what may be influencing a particular share, ETF or cryptocurrency, including recent news, price movements and both bullish and bearish factors. Portfolio Summaries analyse an investor’s holdings and identify common themes, performance drivers and noteworthy developments across multiple positions.

CMC Invest says the tool is intended to support Australian traders doing research rather than replace investor judgement and emphasises that the feature does not provide investment recommendations or personalised financial advice.

“Markets move quickly, and investors are often left piecing together news, price movements and market data from multiple sources,” O’Doherty said. “CMC Intelligence helps simplify that process by bringing key insights into clear, structured summaries.”

CMC Invest described CMC Intelligence as an “early step” in its AI strategy, with further enhancements and additional AI-powered features expected in the future as the platform continues to expand its research capabilities.

Our View

Another bit of great news for investors as I definitely think that AI is a game-changer and anything that can help you fine tune your portoflio can help you make more money. Other brokers like IBKR, who just integrated Grok and ChatGTP are increasingly using AI tools to help their customres be more informed about the markets and their portfolios. So the more AI-powered research assistants, portfolio analysis tools and market commentary generators designed to improve investor engagement and decision-making, the better.

Just don’t rely on AI investing tools fully and always check their homework, as AI is like a really, really smart intern. Very capably, but lazy and can make mistakes.
