Capital.com Tees Up Golf Sponsorship of Australian Open & GA Handicap

Capital Com Australia Pty Ltd, the Australian subsidiary of global CFD trading platform Capital.com, has signed a multi-year partnership with Golf Australia to become title partner of the Australian Open and the first naming rights partner of the GA Handicap.

Under the agreement, the tournament will now be branded the “Capital.com Australian Open”, while the country’s official registered handicap system will become the “Capital.com GA Handicap”. The partnership links the fintech trading platform with both elite Australian golf and the grassroots participation system used by hundreds of thousands of golfers nationwide.

The 2026 Capital.com Australian Open will be held at Kingston Heath Golf Club, one of Australia’s most prestigious championship venues. The event is expected to attract global attention with four-time major winner Rory McIlroy confirmed to return to Australia as part of a two-year commitment.

Capital.com Australia said the partnership would help fund improvements to spectator facilities, on-course infrastructure and player fields, while also supporting the evolution of the GA Handicap into a more data-driven platform offering analysis, content and engagement tools for golfers.

Thomas McCrickard, CEO of Capital.com Australia, said golf’s emphasis on patience, discipline and long-term thinking aligned closely with the company’s approach to helping clients make informed financial decisions.

Capital.com Australia is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission under AFSL 513393 and offers Australian CFD traders access to shares, indices, commodities, forex, cryptocurrencies and ETFs through its technology-led trading platform. The company positions itself as an execution-only broker focused on trading tools, market analysis and risk management features.

James Sutherland, CEO of Golf Australia, described the agreement as a major investment across all levels of the game, adding that it would help grow the championship, attract world-class players and improve the fan experience.

The championship at Kingston Heath is expected to host up to 25,000 spectators per day and will feature a new course routing that could also be used during the 2028 Presidents Cup.

The sponsorship announcement comes shortly after Capital.com was voted “Best CFD Trading Platform 2026” in the Good Money Guide Trading Awards, where customers praised the platform’s execution speed, trading tools and ease of use.
