cTrader will sit alongside its existing platforms, these include the ever-popular MT4 and MT5 platforms, a web, or browser-based trader and mobile trading apps.
What is cTrader and why is it popular?
cTrader is an advanced trading platform that was created by Spotware Systems, a specialist developer of trading technologies founded in 2010.
cTrader is popular among traders because it allows them to code and deploy their own algorithmic trading tools known as cbots. Which can be used to facilitate scalping, hedging and other trading strategies. The platform is also known for its fast execution speeds and advanced charting package.
In the latest version of the cTrader platform users can backtest their strategies using the Market Replay function, which runs their strategy against historical tick data, in a real-time visualisation. cTrader now also offers API connectivity for enhanced algo trading.
The platform comes equipped with its own trading analytics package known as an Analyzer, which is designed to shine a light on a user’s trading performance using key trading metrics and statistics, including drawdowns, profit factors (or the ratio of net profits divided by net losses), average trade performance, commissions paid etc. It will also calculate the users Sharpe and Sortino ratios.
Who are FP Markets?
FP Markets was established in 2005 and has grown to become one of Australia’s largest brokers.
The broker, which also operates under a CYSEC licence in Cyprus, offers access to trading in 10,000 instruments, across markets that include FX, equity indices, individual stocks and commodities.
The firm will offer both live and demo versions of cTrader to their clients, what’s more, FP Markets customers who use the platform will be able to trade ETFs Bonds and Cryptocurrencies.
Craig Allison, FP Markets Chief Executive Officer said that:
“‘FP Markets is committed to constantly improving its forex offering and adding CTrader to our wide range of trading platforms is a testament to this”
He added that:
“The addition of the cTrader trading platform offering allows our clients the choice to further shape their trading experience with us”
Margin trading customers are becoming ever more sophisticated in their approach to the markets, and they demand the tools and platforms, that allow them to develop and implement increasingly automated trading strategies. In rolling out cTrader to its clients FP Markets is demonstrating that it’s listening to and understands its customer base.
