TradingView has enabled US equity options trading through its partnership with US brokerage platform TradeStation.
In a LinkedIn post earlier this week, TradeStation CEO John Bartleman said: βA major milestone achieved! Iβm thrilled to share that equity options trading on TradingView is now LIVE!
βAs the exclusive launch broker, we at TradeStation are incredibly proud to be a part of this game-changing development in the world of trading.β
TradeStation is the exclusive launch broker for the equity options trading service, which Bartleman will give TradingView customers new tools and opportunities to trade options more efficiently.
It provides real-time data, charts, and manages orders for traders and financial institutions.
Its parent company was formed under the name Omega Research in 1982, with the TradeStation software launching in 1991.
The Good Money Guideβs review of TradeStation finds it to be β one of the best online stock brokers out thereβ.
Points in favour of the platform include βhighly evolved software for tech-hungry tradersβ, as well as its proprietary coding language EasyLanguage. It also has an active online community of brokers and offers competitive commission rates.
On the downside, the minimum needed to maintain an account with the platform and avoid fees is fairly high, making it more beneficial for frequent traders.
It offers powerful tools for online brokers and its sophisticated charting methods and indicators put it ahead of most rivals.
TradingView is a Chicago-based charting platform and social network which claims to be used by more than 90 million traders and investors around the world, making it among the most popular investing services globally.
In recent years TradingView has been seeking out partnerships with leading trading platforms.
This includes a tie-up with ThinkMarkets in 2023 to improve the analysis and charting capabilities of the latterβs Think Trader Web platform.
The deal added 13 distinct chart types alongside a suite of drawing tools with which to annotate and mark up charts to Think Trader Web.
eToro and Australia-based CFD and forex platform Pepperstone also integrated TradingView into their UK offerings in 2023.
