World First was founded in 2004 by Jonathan Quin and Nick Robinson and has gone on to win numerous awards such as, Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2016, Customer Experience Awards in 2013, UK National Business Award in 2011 and the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 in 2011.

World First offer a few different ways to transfer money and are one of the only money transfer companies to offer options.  If you are not familiar with currency options they are a way to hedge your currency exposure by having the option to buy a certain amount of currency at a certain point.  You pay a little premium for this but are not obliged to to so if you change your mind.  Currency options are a fairly sophisticated way of hedging.  For most private and commercial transactions a simple currency forward should be enough.

There a few minor bad points to World First such as it’s size for example – sometimes a personal relationship with a small firm is better as larger currency brokers can feel a bit like call centres at times.

However, during this World First review the good points highlighted are clearly the simple sign up process, a very experienced team from the top down as well as glowing reviews on sites like feefo and trust pilot.

World First as a big currency broker that is regulated – you will probably have seen their Mr Men adverts at stations and some rather amusing animals on facebook.
