Destiny Mastercard Credit Card Expert Review & Ratings: Updated 08/24/2026

Account: Destiny Mastercard Credit Card
Description: The Destiny Mastercard is primarily for people with poor or limited credit who are struggling to qualify for mainstream credit cards. Its main advantage is accessibility: it is an unsecured card requiring no security deposit and reports monthly activity to all three major credit bureaus, which can help establish a positive credit history when managed responsibly. However, it is an expensive way to access credit. The 35.9% APR makes carrying a balance costly, while the current offer charges a $175 annual fee during the first year. From year two, there is a $49 annual fee plus $150 in annualized monthly fees. There are also no meaningful rewards or introductory offers. Overall, Destiny can serve a specific purpose for customers rebuilding credit, but those who can qualify for a cheaper credit-building card should compare alternatives before applying.
APR & interest rates
The Destiny Mastercard has a 35.9% purchase APR and the same 35.9% APR for cash advances. There is no 0% introductory rate, making it expensive if you carry a balance. Purchases have at least a 25-day grace period when you pay your balance in full, while cash advances accrue interest immediately. This card is best used for building credit, not borrowing.
Fees
Fees are a major drawback. The current offer has a $175 annual fee in year one, falling to $49 thereafter, but a $12.50 monthly fee applies after year one, equivalent to another $150 annually. Foreign transactions cost 1%, cash advances cost $5 or 5%, whichever is greater, and late payments can cost up to $41.
Rewards & cashback
The Destiny Mastercard is designed for establishing or rebuilding credit rather than earning rewards. The current card does not advertise cashback, points, airline miles or a conventional rewards program. Instead, its main benefit is monthly reporting to all three major credit bureaus, potentially helping responsible users establish a positive payment history. It is unsecured, so you don’t need a security deposit.
Introductory offers
There is no headline welcome bonus, 0% purchase APR, 0% balance transfer period or introductory rewards offer. This makes Destiny considerably less attractive than mainstream rewards and balance transfer cards. Its proposition is different: providing access to an unsecured Mastercard for people establishing or rebuilding their credit. Customers should therefore judge it on accessibility rather than short-term introductory incentives.
Eligibility & credit requirements
Eligibility is where Destiny performs better. It is specifically designed for people with challenging credit histories who want to establish or rebuild credit. Applicants must be at least 18, have a valid Social Security number, physical address and U.S. IP address. Income and debt are reviewed. If your application isn’t approved, Destiny says a hard inquiry won’t appear on your credit report.
