IGÂ Versus Core Spreads - Any contest?
Can you compare upstart discount brokers Core Spreads versus IG? Â Find out in our brief rundown of the key features from the two spread betting brokers.
When were they founded?
Core Spreads is a new spread betting broker founded in 2014 (read the full review). IG on the other hand has been around since 1974 and is the original spread betting broker that pioneered the industry.
How tight are their spreads?
This is where Core Spreads aims to win business. Â They aim to offer the tightest spread sin the industry. Â IG is so big they don't really compete on price so there is not much competition for Core Spreads in this category.
Trading platform choice
IG has one of the best trading platforms in the industry.  However, if you get all your market information and charting elsewhere then Core Spreads basic platform may be an option.  They have stripped out all the bells and whistles and just have a buy/sell no thrills execution platform. As it's simple the savings are passed on to the clients.
Spreadex's online platform is fine and functional. Â But where they really shine is personal service for clients that like to deal over the phone. Â As they are a smaller broker they offer a more personal service.
Trader rebate programs
Core Spreads do offer a 50% rebate on all trading costs for new clients so when you sign u pyou could get a nice cash rebate in your account at the end of the month.
Nothing from IG.
How broad is the market range?
Unsurprisingly, IG wins when it comes to the markets available on it's platform. IG offer around 10,000 markets to their clients whilst Core Spreads focus on providing discount pricing on the most liquid FX pairs, indices and stocks.
